Aesthetician Corinne Morley details the skin health benefits of this tripeptide.

The latest trends in wellness-infused beauty and skin care from the inside out were detailed by a beauty insider herself when Corinne Morley, aesthetician and beauty therapist, held a press luncheon in New York City. Morley’s journey into skin care began at an early age; she told Happi that she practically grew up in her mother’s wellness business. She also suffered from skin problems as a teen, so she knows how emotionally devastating it can be to have skin issues. In her professional career, Morley held management roles with such companies as Estée Lauder, as well as European professional skin care brands like Matis, G.M. Collin and Biologique. Morley also joined Trilogy beauty as the brand was expanding internationally and worked closely with its founders to ensure its success in the burgeoning field of pure plant oils. Now, Morley is the head of Beauty Street, her new consulting agency based in the UK. “Wellness and beauty go hand-in-hand and research is the cornerstone of both,” explained Morley. “Everything we do externally and internally affects our skin, from daily stress to our diets. Beauty is more than just skin deep and research exists to back this claim.” Stay Positive Doing positive things can affect one’s complexion, which is why more and more brands are focusing on wellness, said Morley. Sectors are merging and even big brands like Sephora and Nordstrom are capitalizing on wellness-infused beauty. This is not a new development of course, but customers are savvier now than ever before and demanding quality ingredients, science-based solutions and ethical business practices. They want to feel good about the products they are using. The biggest trends in beauty right now are about embracing imperfections and being your best self, rather than covering yourself up or trying to be someone else. “Consumers are less focused on looking younger and more focused on aging well,” said Morley. “People want to attain a certain radiance and healthy glow, and Setria Glutathione can help.” Described as the “master antioxidant,” glutathione neutralizes free radicals that are harmful to skin. It is composed of three aminio acids, glutamic acid, cysteine and glycine. Free radicals deteriorate the skin’s structural support and break down collagen proteins and elastin fibers in the skin, causing a loss of elasticity and suppleness. Free radical activity is stimulated by pollution in the environment, stress, smoking, drinking and sunlight. “Fortunately,” Morley said, “there is an antidote—antioxidants.” Antioxidants can be found in food and supplements, but the human body can always use more, especially since it declines at the cellular level with age, especially after 40. According to Morley, environmental toxins also deplete glutathione levels which is why boosting glutathione levels is critical. Setria is a patented form of Glutathione that increases the body’s source of glutathione, repairs cell damage, supports detoxification and is beneficial for wrinkle reduction. Setria manufactures the ingredient through a fermentation process, similar to beer. “Glutathione has years of research behind it, is clinically proven to be effective, is allergy free and is safe for everyone,” Morley explained. It has been proven to help even out skin tone and brighten skin, giving skin a glow that is so desirable. It is effective by itself or as an ingredient in tandem with various vitamins and solutions. Already very popular in Asia, the West has yet to catch upon glutathione, but you can look out for products containing this ingredient, available soon. On display at the event were some products containing Setria Glutathione. In the beauty category, there were two supplements designed to help skin, hair and nails: BeautifulAlly by Bluebonnet and Genius Beauty by The Genius Brand. For detox and recovery there was Balance by Alaninu and Bright-Eyed Mornings by Zaca. Also on display were Setria L-Glutathione Reduced veggie caps by Healthy Origins. Each of these supplements was tailored toward different aspects of well-being, but they all had Setria Glutathione in common. “I am passionate about everything skin and particularly so when there is science-backed evidence to support claims,” Morley told Happi, “Which is why Setria Glutathione is an ingredient that I can support for wellness infused beauty.”
